Our builder started on the living room which is at the front of the house. This was the last room to be insulated, boarded and plastered so now we’re really excited to finish painting the rest of the house!

We are making the living room a cosy space where you can snuggle up after an adventurous day exploring Wales. Fitting in a stove to help heat the house for the chilly days and the original slate mantelpiece being the main feature in the room.

We decided to put in a downstairs toilet which fits perfectly underneath the stairs. Mirroring the same tongue and groove as the upstairs bathroom, keeping a cohesive traditional look throughout the house.

Also we started stripping and sanding the handrail to expose the wood. We want to show elements of the original character of the building with organic materials such as slate and wood. This is something we want to continue as we move on to designing the interior and exterior of the house.
